The intrepid trio of Richard ‘Maillot Jaune’ Newsome, Sunflower Bob and special guest Curry Club Rider “Malcolm X ” completed the 100km clockwise around the Island in record time, braving some strong head-winds and afternoon down-pours.
Clocking in an hour and a half too early for their 16:15 ferry from Yarmouth, and not finding a suitable curry house, they settled for pasties, bacon rolls and a nice cup of tea at a nearby cafe.
The expedition nearly faltered at the start when Richard left Brock without his Maillot Jaune, and lost valuable time returning home to fetch it; turning up as last cyclist on the Lymington ferry in the nick of time!
A great event for the CCR calendar, and a ‘must do’ for next year.
